Big Sister

Scott's brother Steve brought Stella over right after Luna was born.
She was so excited, she even got herself dress for the occasion.
Church dress, star scarf, purple socks, sparkly shoes and messed up hair.

Stella has been the best big sister.
She is willing to get diapers, wipes, binkie's, really anything.
We just need to help her realize that she can't pick her up when ever she wants!

Hospital

I finally got all the pictures of after Luna's birth off everyone's phones!
Picture overload

Birth Story

On Thursday 9th I went to my doctors appointment and was dilated to a 3 and 80% effaced.
So my doctor stripped my membranes in hope that I would go into labor before he went out of the country for 2 weeks.
Then he told me to walk Foremaster to try to help start my labor.
So after work I walked foremaster, jumped on the tramp, and even tried drinking castor oil in a strawberry shake(disgusting) but still nothing!

On  Friday morning around 7 I was feeling light contractions and started counting them.
They were 3-4 minutes apart and I had them for 2 hours.
I was so excited! I thought for sure I was going to have the baby.
I decided to walk up the West side of the D hill pushing Stella in her stroller.
Man that was AWFUL!
By the afternoon I wasn't having any more contractions. So I started Blue Cohosh hoping that would kick things in before my Doctor left at 5.
Nothing! Once 5pm hit I decided to stop everything and just let things come when they come.
We went out to dinner and went over to Scott's brother's house and hung out.

I woke up multiple times in the night to go to the bathroom and everything was normal.
I woke up at 6:45am with a horrible pain in my back,
I thought I had to go to the bathroom but it kept getting stronger then finally went away.
I realized it was a contraction so I grabbed my phone to start track of the contractions.
I had another one very quickly and it lasted for a minute.
I had to hold onto the side of the bed it was so painful.
That one lasted for a minute again!
After one more contraction that lasted a minute I woke Scott up and told him I was having contractions.
He got out of bed and slowly started getting dressed and Stella came in, she started getting all excited.
I had another contraction that almost knocked me on the ground.
Once Scott saw that we hurried and got dressed and headed to the hospital.
I did turn on the flat iron in hopes of straightening my hair but i gave up after a contraction.
Luckily, Scott's brother Steve had stayed at our house just in case I went into labor.
He stayed at the house and watched Stella.
By the time we got to labor and delivery I couldn't stand during my contractions.
I would just hold onto Scott as tight as possible.

A CNA took me into a room to get changed (it was about 7:30) I was in so much pain I just stripped right there to get the gown on. The CNA said everyone was in a C-section and it would be a little bit before someone could come check on me!
Luckily a lady came in and said she saw me come in and wanted to see if she could help.
She was a nurse but was there to teach a prenatal class.
She checked me and I was dilated to an 8!
I asked if I could get an epidural asap and the CNA said he was in the C-section and couldn't until he got out in 20 minutes.
My contractions kept getting worse and worse.
Stupid me never took a prenatal class of any kind with Stella or with this pregnancy.

I might of screamed a couple times, oops!
I'm not sure how many, that part is all a bit of a blur.
But around 7:55 I let out an horrific yell, the contraction was the worst yet.
The C-section was out so a nurse and some others came running in.
She checked me and I was in transition!
I almost died, I didn't want to go natural and it was so painful!
The doctor came in and informed me that we were going to do it natural and that everything was going to be fine.

The rest is a bit of blur.
I hunched down and began pushing and after 3 contractions she was born, 8:04am.
I tore a little bit (to a 2 the doctor said)
but besides that everything was great.

6 lbs 13oz
19 1/2 inches
8:04am

She was beautiful! She cried and they got her all taken care of.

Because we were trying to get into the hospital quickly we left the camera and video camera so all pictures that were taken were taken on phones. So I am still trying to collect all the pictures.

Scott called Steve after the baby was born and he brought Stella over.
She was so excited. She gave a present to Luna and we got a present for her "from" Luna.
She thought that was best!

I have now had an epidural, c-section and gone natural.

Pregnancy Post

37 Weeks

I had an appointment on Thursday May 2nd
I was dilated to a high 2 (almost 3) and 70% effaced!!
Hopefully I have this baby before the 12th
because my doctor is going to China for a week and a half!

My acid reflux has been horrible!
I almost can't eat anything which makes things hard
I can't wait till I can eat normal again.

I have had terrible anxiety since my last week
I am pretty sure it is a mixture of a lot of things
but it makes it really hard to sleep at night.
I think a lot of it is about the whole going into labor and having everything be okay.
I hope once things get rolling and I am in actual labor I will feel better

I have gain a total of 26lbs as of Thursday
I haven't gained as much as I did with Stella
but I think all the stress and anxiety have done that.
I am definitely not complaining, it will be easier to loose after.

We are ready for this little girl to get here!
The nursery is done
I am done working on the 9th (unless she comes before!)
Stella tells me every morning that the baby is squishing me
and if she is coming that day.
Then when I tell her no she says, "oh in 5 weeks she is coming."
I hope not!

We are so excited!!

Salt Lake

{4.12.2013 - 4.14.2013}

I wanted to make one last trip to Salt Lake to see our friends
and to go to IKEA.
I didn't take really any pictures which was nice because I just got to relax

I had a really bad first night where I was up almost all night with back pain and acid reflux
then Stella graced me at 6:00am.
I kept her with me till 8 then sent her to Scott, who slept in another room, he let me go back to sleep for a couple more hours.
Scott ended up having to go work on a car so Tatum was nice enough to watch Stella while I slept and for awhile after I woke up.
I didn't realize how hard it would be to go to Salt Lake at 34 weeks pregnant.

At least I got a couple pictures of them coloring with chalk!
Thanks again Mike and Tatum for letting us crash at your house and for helping take care of Stella!
Oh and for letting Stella torture your dogs!

Pregnancy Post

36 Weeks

I went to my check up on Thursday April 25th
I was dilated to a 1 and 50% effaced!
She is also head down already!
The baby was measuring right on schedule and her heartbeat sounded great.
My doctor thinks that if I keep going smoothly that I might have this baby in 2 weeks!
I am so excited but also rushing to get a couple last minute things done
I have again a total of 25lbs so far

He also let me know that because my body is starting to progress
that my chances of having a successful natural delivery are high!
Yay to no C-section!(I hope)
The more my body progress naturally the better my chances are

I have had horrible acid reflux for the last couple of weeks
I had no idea before how awful it was!
It is starting to calm down and I am hoping it goes away all together soon

This girl pushes down ALL DAY!
I feel so bruised and walk around with a waddle all the time
My hips and upper legs are super sore and that makes it hard to walk

Stella is getting more excited
She tells EVERYONE that her baby is coming in 2 weeks
or sometimes she says 5 because she really likes the number 5
She loves hugging me from behind and rubbing my belly.
Then she will ask if the baby liked her rubbing her,
I always say yes!

I would say I am in full blown nesting stage
and I have been for probably 2 or 3 weeks.
I feel like my WHOLE house is dirty and I have been trying to deep clean it all
It hasn't gone to well because I never have enough time
but things are slowing getting done.
We have been looking at homes to buy and are in the process
so that takes up most of my time after work, dinner, and picking the house normally.

The nursery is almost done
I need to sew a sheet for the cradle
and get a changing pad and changing pad cover.
Then I think I will be good to go
If anything else comes up I will just wait till after she is born to get it.

My last day of work is on April 9th
I am trying to get everything ready so my Mom has everything she needs
Hopefully I will get it all done.
I will start working from home starting 6 weeks after the baby is born.

I can't wait for this little girl to get here!
I am so excited and baby hungry, haha!!

35 Weeks

34 Weeks
Taken before bed!

Easter

Easter Day
{3.31.2013}

After Stella found her Easter basket and spent the morning going through everything in it (I forgot to take pictures of it!) we headed over to the Temple to walk around.

Trying to see inside the Temple.

 Show us her dance moves!
She did lots and lots of twirls

The we headed over to the Dalton's to have a Easter lunch.
It was my Parents, Dan, Alex, Laura, Scott, Stella and I
My Mom always makes the best food and it is always to relaxing and fun.
Plus the Easter Bunny visited us at the Dalton's too!

Later in the evening we headed over the Madsen's to have an Easter dinner
The dinner included Becky, Alan, Greg, Lindsey, Ike, Anna, Scott, Stella, Me, and some family friends (I don't know how to spell their last name!)
Stella's Easter dress from Grammy Becky

All in all it was a wonderful Easter and we are so grateful for the gospel and for Jesus Christ.
